With a population of only 800, it is easy to see and do a lot in the small town even if you are short on time. If you like being outside, unbelievable views, and fresh coffee, I highly recommend a visit to Minca. Waterfalls and Hiking

Minca is undoubtedly one of the best spots for birding in Colombia. So when I was chalking out my rough Colombia itinerary, I knew I simply HAD to check out this wonderful mountain town surrounded by lush green forests of Sierra Nevada.

May 14, 2015 · Minca is a small village in a valley in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada in the north of Colombia. It is a 45 minute taxi ride from Santa Marta. These regions were once host to the native Tairona people. I heard that in recent years, the area was also FARC territory and hence has only opened up to tourism relatively recently.
